Geophysical Environmental Services

Our geophysicists have extensive experience identifying the extent of buried structures and voids, site stratigraphy, and abandoned wells and tanks.

Environmental geophysical services can be an indispensable component to many types of environmental investigations.

Typical objectives of an environmental geophysical survey include:

(note: all lists bulleted and accompanied by a photo/graphic)

  • Locate subsurface utilities on your site
  • Determine depth to bedrock
  • Delineate landfill boundaries
  • Delineate contaminate plumes
  • Locate underground storage tanks and drums
  • Identify preferential contaminant pathways

FPM has conducted extensive environmental geophysical surveys and is prepared to take on any project you may need. In addition, FPM's key personnel are experienced in handling all aspects of an environmental geophysical survey.

Some important benefits of using FPM for your environmental geophysical survey include:

  • Low cost solution
  • Non-invasive
  • Identification of subsurface hazards
  • Accurate surveying and location of buried objects

FPM typically uses at least two of the following methods for each environmental geophysical survey, depending on the objectives:

  • Electromagnetic
  • Electrical resistivity
  • Borehole geophysical logging
  • Ground-penetrating radar
  • Potential field (e.g. magnetics or gravity)
